01. Invasion of the Vestals |
The Bakugan are finally living in peace back on New Vestroia when the people of Vestal invade, turning all the Bakugan into ball form and abducting them before terraforming their world. Drago, now maintaining a balance in the Perfect Core of New Vestroia, is forced to watch helplessly as his friends fall. But the spirits of past Bakugan warriors use their power to separate Drago from the Core and reconstitute his body, leaving just enough of his energy behind to support the Core. Drago immediately traverses the dimensions to find help from his old partner. Back on Earth, the Brawlers are adjusting to normal life but each experience feelings of foreboding as New Vestroia falls. Dan's suspicion that something big is happening is confirmed when Drago arrives to take him back to help save New Vestroia. They are both stunned when Marucho stubbornly tags along despite the danger. Upon arrival, they are confronted by Mira Fermen, leader of the Bakugan Brawler Resistance. She and Dan face off against two of the Vexos, the Vestals' top Bakugan brawlers. The Vexos are overwhelmed by Dan and Drago's power and skill but vow to return and battle again. Mira is impressed by Dan and Marucho. With their help, perhaps they can save New Vestroia after all.

02. Facing Ace |
On the way to her secret headquarters, Mira tells the still-distrustful Dan, Marucho and Drago why she has chosen to fight her own people by forming the Bakugan Battle Brawler Resistance. Seeking a solution to their society's overpopulation problem, the Vestal King sent ships to colonize New Vestroia, capturing and enslaving the Bakugan in the process. The colonists developed a passion for Bakugan Brawling, building huge stadiums for their matches. Mira was a fan herself until the day she chose to visit her father, Professor Clay, a leading Vestal scientist. After witnessing her father torturing a talking Bakugan, Mira realized the Bakugan are sentient and formed the Bakugan Brawler Resistance to free them and send the Vestal invaders back home. Arriving back at HQ, Dan and Drago are challenged by Ace, Mira's top brawler. Threatened by Dan's skill and power, Ace is determined to prove the Resistance doesn't need his help. Dan and Drago are sure this will be an easy victory but Ace and his Bakugan, Percival, prove to be worthy opponents. After a battle that rages all afternoon, Dan and Ace admit they are evenly matched and develop new respect for one another. It looks like the Bakugan Brawler Resistance has some new recruits!

04. Marucho's Mission |
Without a Bakugan of his own, Marucho is on the outside looking in as Dan and the rest of the Bakugan Battle Brawlers Resistance become a tight-knit team. Determined to do his part, Marucho borrows a gauntlet and walks off into the wilderness in search of a Bakugan partner, prompting Ace to assume he's fled like a coward. Marucho finds a forest of small Bakugan creatures protected by Elfin, a Bakugan guardian who knew Preyas. When Marucho asks Elfin to partner with him, she agrees, but only if he passes her tests. Marucho fails them all and Elfin is ready to part ways when Mylene arrives on a hunt for stronger Bakugan. Elfin has no option but to team with Marucho to stop the Vexos Brawler. Elfin's ability to change her attribute proves quite useful and Marucho quickly takes advantage of that strength. But when Mylene summons a powerful, ancient Trap Bakugan long thought extinct, the pair are taken to the edge of defeat. An injured Marucho makes a last ditch move to save Elfin then passes out. But before Mylene can claim Elfin, a mysterious Brawler appears and defeats her. Marucho wakes and discovers Elfin was moved by his sacrifice. As long as New Vestroia needs saving, she'll be his partner. As the Resistance celebrates (and Ace eats his words about Marucho), Mira wonders if the mystery Brawler could be her missing brother.
