Famous crime novelist Rick Castle, a rock star of the literary world, is suffering from writer’s block. When a murderer copy-cats a killer from one of his books, he's asked to help the NYPD. Paired with an attractive detective who embraces the more traditional forms of police work and doubts his talent of perception and deduction, they soon realize together they each have a perspective necessary to solving the mystery.
