Pacific Coast Academy, an elite all boys boarding school is accepting female students for the first time since the school was established in 1923. Zoey Brooks, an independent and outgoing 13-year-old is a member of the school's first female class. Zoey is excited about being on her own and tackles, with humor and style, all the challenges that come her way: fitting in, roommates, making the all boys basketball team, etc. Zoey has an ally in her younger brother, Dustin who also attends PCA.
